All aboard!
The Party Train has arrived. Why? Well, it's June 25th, and that means Your Alibi releases today!

I'm sure you knew there would be some kind of contest going on up in here. To enter, just post your favorite song from the 80s in comments. Prize is a copy of Your Alibi, and a $30 Amazon Gift Certificate. Winner will be drawn randomly this time next week. But you have to play to win!

Meanwhile, let's get down on it.

Want more Annie? I got around this weekend. You can find me here, here, and here.

A big congratulations to you! Many happy sales.

I'm also intrigued by your idea of creating an author blog around your agent. What a great idea! I just spent a bunch of time going through old posts. Interesting stuff.

Congrats on the new release!* confetti rain for ya*

Thank you for guest blogging with me......my favorite song from the 80's is Madonna's La Isla Bonita,I still catch myself singing this song.*g*

I have it already and love it and I'm telling everyone I know to grab it (so don't bother to enter me into the contest). But I can't resist an 80's song question!

There are so many! Slave to Love by Bryan Ferry probably sticks with me the strongest. I still love it every time i hear it.

My favorite '80s song: "Anthrax" by Gang of Four, although of course that is just this minute.

Congratulations on the release, Annie!

"Sister Christian" by Night Ranger.

"Tainted Love" by Soft Cell

Wahoo! Congrats. I hope you're celebrating in style. :-)

Just one song? That's too hard! If I go by my favourite song during the 80s, I think it would have to be Rhythm of the Night by Debarge.

OK, I can't help it. I have to mention Karma Chameleon by Boy George, and Glory of Love by Peter Cetera (ah, Ralph Macchio--you used to be such a cutie *lol*).

congratulations Ann!
i'll post party pimpage tomorrow...must hunt for disco ball...
favorite 80's song....
"Ah
We move like cagey tigers
We couldn't get closer than this
The way we walk
The way we talk
The way we stalk
The way we kiss
We slip through the streets
While everyone sleeps
Getting bigger and sleeker
And wider and brighter
We bite and scratch and scream all night
Let's go and throw
All the songs we know..."

The Cure's Love Cats. I have it as my cellphone ring and it drives some people nuts when it goes off in a meeting. heh.
Oh yeah- don't enter me in the drawing of course.

Oh Jeez, now keep in mind that I was raising in an extremely Christian house and rock music was evil so I was getting into the 80s scene in about 1994. But I really dig The BellJar by The Bangles. So many singable songs!

Happy Release Day!

Fave 80's song? That's impossible. I'll just pick one for argument's sake:
Da Do Do Do, Da Da Da Da by The Police. Love that song!

Since I can't remember which songs were actually released in the 80's, I found this list, VH1's Top 100 Songs of the 80's, and found a buttload that I really like but an even bigger buttload that I think should be outlawed as lethal earworms.

Of the good ones, I guess I'd pick Jack and Dianne by John Melloncamp, When Doves Cry by Prince, You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC, Every Breath You Take by The Police, and... well... you only asked for one so I'm shutting up now. Notice that I didn't even pull up the Country charts and start listing those. You're welcome. ;D

Yikes. I have way too many '80s favorites. I'll be one of those old geezers buying the Time/Life CD collection of the greatest hits of that decade one day.

Blogger Rhian / Crowwoman said...
Covering my mouth and snickering at April's comment. Yeah, me too.

Congrats, Ann! I'll have to get this book. I loved the excerpt you posted. As for my favorite 80s song, I can't play. I love music too much and I can't pick one favorite song. There are too many...

Congrats on the new release! It is hard to pick just one favorite so I will pick one song out of my long list of favorites. I choose "Every Breath You Take" by The Police.

Blogger ERiCA said...
Gawd, I can't pick just one! I liked most Madonna, most Cyndi Lauper, most Bangles, Janie's Got A Gun, Venus, So Alive, Sweet Dreams, No Myth, Push It, Paul Revere, Toy Soldiers, Elvira, Separate Lives, and yes--I'll admit it--Parents Just Don't Understand

P.S.
HAPPY RELEASE DAY!!! (a little late)

Thanks so much, Cora!

Ya'll have got some kickin' taste in music. I've been thinking on it when I have a spare brain cell, and I gotta say for me, it's:

ELECTRIC AVENUE

I rocked to that when I was a kid. Summertime, pool, radio on the deck, and here comes Eddy Grant. Love that song. I gotta hear it now. *runs off to Youtube*
