T13

13 things the LOLcats have left as offerings outside my office door

1. dirty sock
2. dead cricket
3. live cricket
4. clean sock
5. pair of black tights
6. a small lizard
7. one old slipper
8. stuffed skunk
9. my new shoe
10. a baby turtle
11. a shredded roll of toilet paper
12. one mangled plastic bag
13. string of beads

And a partridge in a pear tree. My cats fancy themselves mighty hunters, so won't you "ooh" and "ahh" over their prowess? Amazingly enough, the turtle suffered no ill effects (even though he was missing for days and endured a frightening stint as a kitty toy). Never fear, Splish has been returned to his aquarium and is doing fine.

No turtles or lizards were harmed in the making of this post. Sadly, one cricket did not survive.

*LOL* And obviously they bring their catch to you to show you what mighty hunters they are.

Great list. My psychokitty is more like a kid who brings out all their toys and leaves them out. :)

At least a big pile of pooh is not on your list! I'm housebreaking a puppy right now, and pooh seems to be the only gifts that I get right now.

Great list!

LOL! What an honor for you that they deign to share their prey. :)

My sister's siamese used to chew a ton of holes in all of our socks. I'm surprised she didn't poop cotton.

Cute list. At least the skunk was stuffed. ;-) When I was a kid, my dog had a run in with a skunk. Eeeew. Let's say it took a few gallons of tomato juice to kill the smell.

Happy TT!

We've had a bat and a gopher. Not from my current cat. Coz he's a wuss.

Mine are idiots but I love them anyway.

The one on the left (facing the picture) is Dulce. He has a habit of taking a flying leap into my clothes hamper to see what's in there. And then he can't jump out because it's too tall and narrow, so he sits in my dirty laundry and cries until I rescue him. Sigh.

Oh, delightful! I bet they were proud though!

You gotta love siamese kitties! They have the most special personalities of any cats on earth. I'm so glad Splish was okay! Poor little turtle!

Winess the skill of the great hunters and bow to thier superiority!

I used to have a Siamese cat, but had to give up all cats when I married a man allergic to them :(

My cat was fond of bringing me dead, half eaten mice.

Happy thirteening :D

I keep thinking about having cats again, but I don't do well with the feline presents. Especially when they were once alive or are still alive. *shudder*

But at least you know they love you when they try to be all impressive with the hunting skills. :)

My two crazy hunters like to bring me live birds that always seem to enjoy taking a full tour of the house. :(

LOL, ROFLMAO at the turtle as a kitty play toy. Glad he was unharmed.

Thanks for visiting my TT!

Our cat always brought us dead birds inside on the carpet and i would freak but he still kept doing it:<

LOL what mighty hunters you have. Mine has a stuffed octopus that she brings around but doesn't really hunt much.

Really??? A baby turtle?

Blogger Ann Aguirre said...
Yep, the kids broke the big aquarium, so we had the baby turtles in a smaller plastic one (with no lid) until we could get replace the big one at the pet store.

Someone left the bedroom door open and one of the cats got in there and stole Splish out of his house. He was missing for days and we had given him up for dead when Dulce deposited him outside my office door. We checked Splish over and he was fine, so we did his eyedrops, put him back in the aquarium and fed him. He was hungry, but otherwise unharmed. Now he swims happily with his brother Splash.

Hmmmm... I'm glad the cat likes the DH more than me.

Glad Splish was OK. Cats are notorious for their septic bites and scratches.

I, too, had cats growing up but had to give them up for an alergic husband.

Pixie, the small, Balinese mother cat, used to catch snakes. Thor, her gigantic yellow tabby son, caught a rat once (Heaven only knows where he found it--we'd never seen another in the yard). He was the mighty hunter, hiding in the Cosmos flowers to catch/eat goldfinches.

Fun list!

Nothing more scary than be a kitty toy to those two ;-)

LOL! This list sorta makes me glad that I only have dogs, and that they don't bring me anything but their toys.

Happy TT and thanks for visiting my list.

That's so nice they leave you presents :) You should be thankful that it's not on your pillow or your face.. lol :)

Mighty hunters!

My sister's cat would bring her living things -- a bat once, but also the finches who'd escaped their cage.

My cat brought me a mouse that looked dead -- until it jumped up and tried to run away.

Happy TT, Ann! Yep, I'll be at RT -- see ya then!

The live cricket and the lizard would have completely freaked me out. I don't mind either outside, but in my house is another story altogether.

Blogger Ann Aguirre said...
I'm not ashamed to say, on occasion, I scream for my husband to deal the "gifts" I receive. Especially crickets. Yuck!

My sister has a similar list with her cats. One cat is a great hunter and has brought home an eel (still alive) and several ducks. (also alive). It makes me glad I have a dog!

We got a live baby chipmunk under the bed. I managed to rescue it, and release it. Unfortunately the baby bunny wasn't nearly as fortunate. We had to have it euthanized on Easter weekend. (It was a wild bunny, not a pet).

She usually gets birds and we think she got a baby blue jay once because we had to rescue her from being dive-bombed by adult blue jays.

'Oh hai, I iz not talkin 2 him'/'-was not talkin 2 u first'

LOVE them! Those are beautiful tributes laid down before their mighty cat leader.

Sometimes cats make me wonder if we are the experimental subjects in some sort of psychology test with the things they leave...

Oh this was great -- my cats leave me socks all the time! They yank them out of the laundry over night and I've got 20 socks all over when I wake up. Then my one cat Mena brings toilet paper into my room when her food dish is empty!!
this was so funny -- and so true!!
thanks for visiting! Happy TT!

Blogger Ann Aguirre said...
Sorry to hear about the baby bunny, Ros.

Lara, do you suppose that's code for "Feed me now or I'll claw the shit out of you. Then you'll need this!"?

Blogger Amy Ruttan said...
At least it was a stuffed skunk!!! LOL!! Picture is hilarious I iz not talking to him. Hilarious.

Poor baby turtle... :(

I'm grateful our dog only moves things around the house rather than collects them!

I am catching up on my TT visits; this made me laugh out loud. Our orange tabby is a hunter too. He brings us dead birds and remnants of once live small furry things - especially if he feels that we've been neglecting him. It's funny, yet tragic at the same time.

Blogger Tink said...
*LOL* You've got to love them! ;-)
Thanks for visiting my Yeats TT last week. I've been away for the weekend, so I'm very late to return the favour!
