13 things the LOLcats have left as offerings outside my office door
1. dirty sock 2. dead cricket 3. live cricket 4. clean sock 5. pair of black tights 6. a small lizard 7. one old slipper 8. stuffed skunk 9. my new shoe 10. a baby turtle 11. a shredded roll of toilet paper 12. one mangled plastic bag 13. string of beads
And a partridge in a pear tree. My cats fancy themselves mighty hunters, so won't you "ooh" and "ahh" over their prowess? Amazingly enough, the turtle suffered no ill effects (even though he was missing for days and endured a frightening stint as a kitty toy). Never fear, Splish has been returned to his aquarium and is doing fine.
No turtles or lizards were harmed in the making of this post. Sadly, one cricket did not survive.
Cute list. At least the skunk was stuffed. ;-) When I was a kid, my dog had a run in with a skunk. Eeeew. Let's say it took a few gallons of tomato juice to kill the smell.
The one on the left (facing the picture) is Dulce. He has a habit of taking a flying leap into my clothes hamper to see what's in there. And then he can't jump out because it's too tall and narrow, so he sits in my dirty laundry and cries until I rescue him. Sigh.
I keep thinking about having cats again, but I don't do well with the feline presents. Especially when they were once alive or are still alive. *shudder*
But at least you know they love you when they try to be all impressive with the hunting skills. :)
Yep, the kids broke the big aquarium, so we had the baby turtles in a smaller plastic one (with no lid) until we could get replace the big one at the pet store.
Someone left the bedroom door open and one of the cats got in there and stole Splish out of his house. He was missing for days and we had given him up for dead when Dulce deposited him outside my office door. We checked Splish over and he was fine, so we did his eyedrops, put him back in the aquarium and fed him. He was hungry, but otherwise unharmed. Now he swims happily with his brother Splash.
Glad Splish was OK. Cats are notorious for their septic bites and scratches.
I, too, had cats growing up but had to give them up for an alergic husband.
Pixie, the small, Balinese mother cat, used to catch snakes. Thor, her gigantic yellow tabby son, caught a rat once (Heaven only knows where he found it--we'd never seen another in the yard). He was the mighty hunter, hiding in the Cosmos flowers to catch/eat goldfinches.
My sister has a similar list with her cats. One cat is a great hunter and has brought home an eel (still alive) and several ducks. (also alive). It makes me glad I have a dog!
We got a live baby chipmunk under the bed. I managed to rescue it, and release it. Unfortunately the baby bunny wasn't nearly as fortunate. We had to have it euthanized on Easter weekend. (It was a wild bunny, not a pet).
She usually gets birds and we think she got a baby blue jay once because we had to rescue her from being dive-bombed by adult blue jays.
Oh this was great -- my cats leave me socks all the time! They yank them out of the laundry over night and I've got 20 socks all over when I wake up. Then my one cat Mena brings toilet paper into my room when her food dish is empty!! this was so funny -- and so true!! thanks for visiting! Happy TT!
I am catching up on my TT visits; this made me laugh out loud. Our orange tabby is a hunter too. He brings us dead birds and remnants of once live small furry things - especially if he feels that we've been neglecting him. It's funny, yet tragic at the same time.

My cat was fond of bringing me dead, half eaten mice.
Happy thirteening :D

Fun list!
Happy TT and thanks for visiting my list.
My sister's cat would bring her living things -- a bat once, but also the finches who'd escaped their cage.
My cat brought me a mouse that looked dead -- until it jumped up and tried to run away.
Happy TT, Ann! Yep, I'll be at RT -- see ya then!

LOVE them! Those are beautiful tributes laid down before their mighty cat leader.
this was so funny -- and so true!!
thanks for visiting! Happy TT!
Lara, do you suppose that's code for "Feed me now or I'll claw the shit out of you. Then you'll need this!"?
I'm grateful our dog only moves things around the house rather than collects them!
Thanks for visiting my Yeats TT last week. I've been away for the weekend, so I'm very late to return the favour!
