13 quotes from movies I watch over and over again

1. "I miss Elizabeth. I will always miss her. But I ache for Grace."

2. "That's Ren and Stimpy. They're way existential."

3. "Oh, I like your outfit too, except when I dress up as a frigid bitch, I try not to look so constipated."

4. "They say most of your brain shuts down in cryo-sleep. All but the primitive side, the animal side. No wonder I'm still awake."

5. "You made three mistakes. First, you took the job. Second, you came light. A four man crew for me? Fucking insulting. But the worst mistake you made...empty gun rack."

5. "Hey, you, on the other side - let her go. Because for her I will cross over, and then you'll be sorry!"

6. "Upset? Is that the word? I used to get upset. When I got a flat tire, when a plane was delayed. I used to get *upset* when the Yankees won the series. So if that's what upset means, what am I feeling now? If you know the word, tell me because I don't."

7. "This place is a mausoleum. If I had my will, I would tear it down brick by brick."

8. "There is a war coming. Are you sure you're on the right side?"

9. "I refuse to play your Chinese food mind games!"

10. "So you didn't want to kill a kid. Welcome to the human race."

11. "Okay, here's the deal, meatball: You let me go, I let you live."

12. "You just said you love me, now if I say I love you and just throw caution to the wind and let the chips fall where they may and you're lying to me, I'm gonna fuckin' die."

13. "Miss Pascal, I've been odd. I know I've been odd, and I know that there are many forces at work telling me to bring these down here to you, but I brought these for you because... I want you."

How many can you guess?

Dude, Where's My Car? is about all I recognise. But let me just say that I'm so glad he didn't have you at hello. :-D

One of my faves: "I see your Schwartz is as big as mine!"

Blogger Kat O+ said...
Oh, and Clueless! Yay!

I recognize Hellboy (I LOVE Hellboy!), and I know I know the first #5, #6, #8, and #12, but I can't remember the movies, argh!

Blogger Ann Aguirre said...
Yep, the three named are correct.

10 more to go!

Much loved to Kat for Dude, Where's My Car? The "and then?!" lady kills me.

OMG! *LOL* Can't blame me for laughing at the one about Ren & Stimpy.

Blogger Joely Sue Burkhart said...
#4 is definitely Pitch Black; #5 might be Chronicles of Riddick but I'm not sure. Happy TT!

Blogger Ann Aguirre said...
Yep. Go Joely, a fellow Riddick fan!

Blogger Nap Warden said...
Well, I know you have Legally Blonde in there. That's my two cents! Great TT!

Oh, #1 is Return to Me. I LOVE THAT MOVIE!! #7 is Batman.

Blogger Ann Aguirre said...
Yep, one of them is Legally Blonde.

And yes, #1 is Return to Me. I love that one too.

You're close on #7. But which ONE?

Blogger Lesley said...
Clueless and Legally Blonde are the only ones I got. I *heart* Legally Blonde!

For someone who watches movies like they were life's blood, I can't believe that I can't identify any of these. Even the ones I recognized, i couldn't picture in context. Damn it! I'm crushed.

Blogger Ann Aguirre said...
I can't believe nobody has gotten #6. I thought that would be an easy one! But maybe you guys haven't watched it elenty-six times like me.

11 looks really familiar to me. i can even picture the guy saying it.

the name will come to me...

Blogger Carrie Lofty said...
"But I ache for Grace."

*swoons* The only problem I have with that line is I would have liked for him to say something like that to her, not to her relatives.

"You just said you love me, now if I say I love you and just throw caution to the wind and let the chips fall where they may and you're lying to me, I'm gonna fuckin' die."

It really is embarassing, my unnatural love for Slater.

What a laugh, all of them - and I can't guess one movie, but I want to see them!

Honestly, I reread books and watch movies and all the Law & Orders over and over again because I can't remember what happened within weeks, if not days.

The mind of a sieve is a beautiful thing to waste :-)

I thought it was more moving to have him confessing to her family. The way the movie is written in a big ensemble way -- with the family meddling, nudging, pushing them together, and just generally match-making it, totally worked for me. I thought he sort of wanted their blessing about going after her.

Hmmm, I'm not at all surprised you recognized #12. :D I love that movie. It's the last time I've liked Patricia Arquette. Could she be more annoying in Medium?

Blogger Janet said...
HA, not a one!!!

Blogger Ann Aguirre said...
Ok, here's a bonus quote:

"Pain heals, chicks dig scars, and glory lasts forever."

Anyone? This is another movie I watch over and over.

Blogger Angela/SciFiChick said...
I only know a few of these~

Clueless! Legally Blonde! The Punisher! (I love those movies)

Blogger Open Grove Claudia said...
I guess Anya has it right - I have no idea. I'd say though you must be one tough gal to like these quotes so much.

Happy TT!

Blogger Ann Aguirre said...
Anya, I just read that Tom Jane has pulled out of the Punisher sequel.

It's a dark Thursday.

Blogger Patti Ann Colt said...
Ok - so I just scared myself. My post is almost the same as Carrie's! I know we aren't sharing a brain - so what's up with that??

Blogger Nicole said...
Um. I have no idea. I knew I recognized #7, but couldn't place it - and even with the comment hint that it's one of the Batman movies... Oh! Wait! I think it's the new one, Batman Begins. (Great movie. But not so new anymore, I guess.)

Happy Thursday, and thanks for the brain teaser!

Blogger Anya Bast said...
Mmmmm...Tom Jane. *goes to happy place*

That does suck, though (and not even in the good way)

Blogger Ann Aguirre said...
I know :(

I was really disappointed. He -made- the movie. I'm not sure I'll even watch the sequel. I hate when they swap actors like they're disposable.

Blogger Kelly McCrady said...
I have seen many of these, but not at quotable levels of repetition. Perhaps when kidlet is old enough that I don't have to sacrifice sleep to watch a movie...great list!

Blogger QB said...
I got nada. zip. zero.

Blogger Jennifer Y. said...
Oooh! I know 1 (love that movie), 2, 3, 8, and 13.

Anonymous Nicole Austin said...
LOL! Great list. I love #3

Happy TT!

Blogger impworks said...
Well I got the ones from films I've seen but other people beat me to them and the other ones made me smile anyway...

Great TT :-)

>>"Hey, you, on the other side - let her go. Because for her I will cross over, and then you'll be sorry!"

I have recently been informed that my son wants to be Hellboy for next Halloween. Every morning waiting for the bus he leans against the fence and reinact the opening scene, with them urging a baby Hellboy ("a red monkey" he says) to jump into the blanket. I love that movie. I too am disappointed that I don't know more of these lines, especially since from the other answers I have seen and liked most of them.

I don't recognize any of these. Although I did see "Clueless" and "Legally Blonde", I haven't watched them numerous times. I am looking forward to finding out the rest of the movies to go with the quotes.

Blogger Ann said...
SO 5 is Hellboy. Is 8 X-Men? I think I know 10 & 11 but can't think of names. Is 10 Elektra? Great list. Happy TT.

Apparently my brain hasn't fully kicked in this morning, because although I recognize a bunch of the quotes, I'm just struggling to place the movies...great TT topic!!!

Blogger L said...
I didn't know any of them.

Not a one.

And I've seen half of these movies.

*slowly shakes head*

Blogger Tink said...
I have seen most of the movies, but I didn't guess a lot... :-)
Thanks for visiting my black panther TT; sorry I'm late in my return visit.

The line about pain and chicks is from The Replacements, which I love.
