Well, maybe you don't care, but I'm telling you anyway. Here's what we have in store.
I've enjoyed my time off, but with My Valentine in the can, it's time for me to get back to work. On Monday, I'll be starting Doubleblind, book three in the Sirantha Jax series. Just fyi, I'll be doing my usual 3K a day until done, which will mean I won't be blog surfing much. If you want me, look for me here or via email. I'll still be blogging, of course, and I always answer emails. You know where to find me.
More exciting news.
My agent has a new website design, and I'm too thrilled to be on the homepage. Go on, click it! How cool is that? Gorgeous design, and there's Grimspace, looking mighty fine, if I do say so myself.
Oh, my editor's assistant, Cam, emailed me to tell me that I'm getting Grimspace proofs. Since she overnighted them, I should have them by Monday. I'm so excited over that, I can't stand it.
EDIT: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! The FedEx man just delivered my proofs. I'm looking at them RIGHT NOW. I have a title page, dedication, acknowledgments...
It's SO beautiful!
Holy crapweasels. My contracts from Laura arrived at 1:42pm.
The goodness hasn't stopped either. The postman just brought me this:
Now I can read the Sonchai books over the weekend! Damn, it's been a good day. I think I need to buy a lottery ticket!
My writing gig has landed on the Autobahn, and I'm so on board.
And you know what? There's more. But I'm not talking. Yet. Have a great weekend, everyone!Labels: random, WIP, writing
It's pretty damn exciting.
I don't know how it works with other agencies, but I feel like we have a real sense of community. I have a pretty close relationship with some of Laura's other authors, and I'm tickled to be on the front page with the likes of Anya Bast, Cynthia Eden, and Lauren Dane. Seven of us, as some of you know, formed a joint author blog, and we're pretty supportive of each other.
In other news...
Proofs! I have proofs!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Big congrats on your proofs. I know we get them in e-publishing but there's just something about having them in print that's really special--more real somehow.
Can't believe you're already working on book three. What happened to book two? And how can you write 3K a day? I thought I was doing pretty good with my routine of 2k a day.
Which leaves me free to work on book three, as I don't have deadlines yet for book two and three of the Corine Solomon series. Since the first book probably won't be slotted until the first quarter of '09, I don't think my deadlines will be too taxing. Unless they decide to release all three books back to back...
*ponders that*
And you say there's more??? Wowee. Can't wait to hear the news.
Must say, you're looking mighty fine on the home page of Bradford Literary, Ms Aguirre. Too Cool.
And hello? More but you don't say? I frown in your direction...
and i thought turning in books 2 months AHEAD of schedule was a myth. No doubt your agent has gold stars all around your name.
ps - congrats!!!
When the manuscript is kicking along, that takes maybe 4 hours. When everything is a struggle, it's more like 8. I just don't knock off work for good until I'm done for the day. Sometimes that means writing a couple hours after the kids are in bed, if the daytime hours were less than productive. Whatever it takes, I do my 3K a day for 30 days until the draft is done.
"And you say there's more???"
Yeah, but it'll be a while before I can say anything.
"holy hell woman! are we gonna be able to say we knew you when?"
I sure hope so. :)
Thanks for all the love. Things are pretty exciting around here these days.
Frickin' RAD.
Can't wait to see what it's all about. :o!
Laura's website is beautiful! Must be a little thrill to see your bookcover on the main page...
