Heh, you’ve eaten crawfish, which I’ve never done, Cora. I’m not sure I’d be brave enough. I think I’d have to close my eyes because I have this weird phobia… but that’s its own blog post.

We eat some preeeetty weird things here in Louisiana, so the green stuff doesn’t seem too shabby. I will not, not, not eat nutria or turtle…. However, aside from those few rare things, I’m pretty open to trying new things. It’s gotten me in trouble a few times throughout my life – ROFL! But I firmly feel life should be an adventure. Food and fun included. :)

I have the same philosophy in life.

Also, thongs feel like wedgies.

I have a thong. I bought it to tantalize my husband, who looked at it and said, “Honey, there’s something wrong with your panties. They’re stuck in your butt.”

“Well, yes. Thongs do that.”

“Oh.”

Thus ended my interest in thongs.

Indeed that policy gets you into some interesting places. Of course the last bit of Indian food I tried tasted like dog food with raisins in it… Ah, well, can’t win them all.

Nice post, Ann. I must say, I would have been a bit reluctant to try that dish, too, but on the other hand, I really love Indian food and a lot of it doesn’t look very appealing :).

I tend to be a pretty adventuresome person and try to avoid saying I don’t like something until I’ve tried it. I can, however, say with absolute certainty that I will never like either brussel sprouts or thong underwear. And yes, I’ve tried both. (Is that TMI?)

That’s kind of an adjunct to the blog title, Lorelie.

I do the same thing with my kids. My daughter now LOVES sushi. My son eats calimari.

They’ll try anything once too. And that’s a nice feeling for a parent to have. You want to raise kids who have an open mind about life.

In child rearing, there’s a lot of hits and misses. And you’re never really sure if you’re doing a good job at it. But there’s one thing I’m pretty proud of – my six year old will try at least one bite of anything I put in front of him. And then he looks at me and says “Try everything once, right mommy?”

I love the title of this blog… It’s a great reminder…
