13 quotes from movies I watch over and over again

1. “I miss Elizabeth. I will always miss her. But I ache for Grace.”

2. “That’s Ren and Stimpy. They’re way existential.”

3. “Oh, I like your outfit too, except when I dress up as a frigid bitch, I try not to look so constipated.”

4. “They say most of your brain shuts down in cryo-sleep. All but the primitive side, the animal side. No wonder I’m still awake.”

5. “You made three mistakes. First, you took the job. Second, you came light. A four man crew for me? Fucking insulting. But the worst mistake you made…empty gun rack.”

5. “Hey, you, on the other side – let her go. Because for her I will cross over, and then you’ll be sorry!”

6. “Upset? Is that the word? I used to get upset. When I got a flat tire, when a plane was delayed. I used to get *upset* when the Yankees won the series. So if that’s what upset means, what am I feeling now? If you know the word, tell me because I don’t.”

7. “This place is a mausoleum. If I had my will, I would tear it down brick by brick.”

8. “There is a war coming. Are you sure you’re on the right side?”

9. “I refuse to play your Chinese food mind games!”

10. “So you didn’t want to kill a kid. Welcome to the human race.”

11. “Okay, here’s the deal, meatball: You let me go, I let you live.”

12. “You just said you love me, now if I say I love you and just throw caution to the wind and let the chips fall where they may and you’re lying to me, I’m gonna fuckin’ die.”

13. “Miss Pascal, I’ve been odd. I know I’ve been odd, and I know that there are many forces at work telling me to bring these down here to you, but I brought these for you because… I want you.”

How many can you guess?

Dude, Where’s My Car? is about all I recognise. But let me just say that I’m so glad he didn’t have you at hello. :-D

For someone who watches movies like they were life’s blood, I can’t believe that I can’t identify any of these. Even the ones I recognized, i couldn’t picture in context. Damn it! I’m crushed.

    “But I ache for Grace.”

*swoons* The only problem I have with that line is I would have liked for him to say something like that to her, not to her relatives.

“You just said you love me, now if I say I love you and just throw caution to the wind and let the chips fall where they may and you’re lying to me, I’m gonna fuckin’ die.”

It really is embarassing, my unnatural love for Slater.

What a laugh, all of them – and I can’t guess one movie, but I want to see them!

Honestly, I reread books and watch movies and all the Law & Orders over and over again because I can’t remember what happened within weeks, if not days.

The mind of a sieve is a beautiful thing to waste :-)

I thought it was more moving to have him confessing to her family. The way the movie is written in a big ensemble way — with the family meddling, nudging, pushing them together, and just generally match-making it, totally worked for me. I thought he sort of wanted their blessing about going after her.

Hmmm, I’m not at all surprised you recognized #12. :D I love that movie. It’s the last time I’ve liked Patricia Arquette. Could she be more annoying in Medium?

Um. I have no idea. I knew I recognized #7, but couldn’t place it – and even with the comment hint that it’s one of the Batman movies… Oh! Wait! I think it’s the new one, Batman Begins. (Great movie. But not so new anymore, I guess.)

Happy Thursday, and thanks for the brain teaser!

    >>”Hey, you, on the other side – let her go. Because for her I will cross over, and then you’ll be sorry!”

I have recently been informed that my son wants to be Hellboy for next Halloween. Every morning waiting for the bus he leans against the fence and reinact the opening scene, with them urging a baby Hellboy (“a red monkey” he says) to jump into the blanket. I love that movie. I too am disappointed that I don’t know more of these lines, especially since from the other answers I have seen and liked most of them.
