Sheldon rocks! I just mentioned him in my Thursday Thirteen post, My Thirteen Favorite TV Nerds (The Guys) Love that show. Though for video games I'm partial to Assassin's Creed.

I want to play Mass Effect now, but I’m one of those fools who doesn’t have an Xbox 360. No Rockband for me either. Though, since I did myself injury with Guitar Hero, *that* might be a blessing.

Michele, I heard about that. Having played the game, it’s far less explicit than a PG-13 movie. I think that lady is full of crap.

Now the game does have a shitload of violence, but from what I remember most of what I killed were zombies and robots and robot zombies (you’d have to play the game).

Hehe, April, it’s cool. I’m sure they’ll do a PC clone sometime, and then you can check it out if you’re so inclined. I used to resist playing console games, but between Jade Empire and Mass Effect, I’m finally a convert. Plus I get to sit on my comfy couch instead of my office chair. Win!

Ah, my ignorance reveals itself. I know nothing about Xbox. It, the Sony Playstation, and the Wii are curiously absent at our house. The last time I had a video game player at home, it was an Atari 2600.

So did you hear how some woman went on the Fox news network and blasted Mass Effect for “having an explicit sex scene” and “encouraging 12 year old boys to be violent”. An actual video game expert on the show got her to admit she never played it and asked her then how does she know that this “sex scene” is actually there when he has played it and says it’s not explicit, and it’s about the relationship, not sex.
The two women on the show pretty much laughed at him and complained that the game should have a MA rating because they can’t watch their kids 24/7.

But the real amusing part is that last night, last time I checked, that woman’s book had 422 negative review on Amazon from people outraged at her dismissing the expert and condemning something she’s never done/see/experienced for herself. 422!

Dude. It’s not for PC. Right now it’s only on Xbox 360. They may eventually make a PC version or for other consoles, but at the moment it’s an exclusive franchise.

And yay! about BBT. I freakin’ love that show.

I’m not certain, but I *think* the show’s been picked up for a second season. It’s doing really well, and only the writers’ strike is keeping any new episodes from production. In any case, it’s created and written by the same guy who wrote Two and a Half Men and Dharma and Greg (Have you ever stopped the playback and read the writer’s vanity card at the end of each episode? They’re hilarious!), and since all of his shows do really well and last a while, I think Big Bang Theory will stick around.

And thank heavens! It’s one of my favorite shows, too. :) Every character on there is PERFECT, lol.

As for Mass Effect, I will keep it on the back burner or save it as a treat for later. I’m trying to be a good girl and not install any games on my computer, or I’d never get any work done, LOL. I’m already WAY too hooked on Scrabulous as it is.

April, didn’t you love it when Sheldon flipped out and told off his boss at uni and then tried to perfect scrambled eggs and invented a glow in the dark goldfish. That was awesome! And the sister from Roseanne made a nice guest appearance as his mom. I think Leonard makes a very nice foil for Sheldon.

Oh, oh! What about when they’re playing Halo 3 and Wolowitz runs off with Penny’s slutty houseguest, so they need another for the team? And Penny starts kicking Sheldon’s ass… then later that week, she and her friends come back, after Wolowitz has broken up with the easy girl, and they’re like, “We want to have sex with RIGHT NOW.” And the guys are too busy playing Halo to notice. LMAO.

That show is too much damn fun. I love it so much that I know it’ll be canceled, and I’ll be reduced to watching the first season over and over on DVD.

I heartily recommend Mass Effect. I’ve played a lot of games over the years, and this is in my top 5. It’s just the perfect blend of storytelling and action.
