Late at night, I miss him so much it hurts. I turn on my side where he's supposed to be, and look at thin trickle of light through the curtains and try to imagine he's here with me. I haven't longed like this since we lived two thousand miles apart. I miss you, love. Oh, and the kid, too. Though I have rarely been so flippin’ tired, I think we’ve both learned a lot about being apart during this trip.
