ArkieRN: I am halfway through it. It is actually a very quick read. One of Kenyon's strengths is that her stories usually go real fast for me. I might not like every story or character, but the writing is very smooth and I fly through her books. I read Archeron in just 3 hours (with interruptions).

I like how she is doing with Styrker. He is still a "villian", but you get to understand his motivations better. Just like most awesome villians, once you understand where he is coming from or how he views himself, it makes sense. He isn't evil for evil sake. For him, he IS a hero...to his people. For humans, he is the opposite as this story shows that he actually has a reason. I am not saying he is a good guy or that I like him. But the story does show him from a different viewpoint (his own) and why he makes the choices he does. I liked that as I am not just into villians who do evil just to take over the world or show they are "evil" (like it is a popularity contest or something). I like for there to be motivations that while I don't agree with, I can at least understand why he went that path.

Erin, I agree that her books are getting more similiar on themes and plots, but so far, this one has been different at least on the hero aspect. I like how things are getting shaken up a bit on expectations though I could do without certain scenes dealing with Ash.

ArkieRN--loved Salavation too!! But J.D. Robb is on my must read list anyway--hey, does anyone else prefer J.D. Robb over Nora Roberts? you'd think you'd like both b/c same person---I think that I'm going to wait for One Silent Night to get to the used bookstore--while I like Kenyon--her books are starting to sound the same...

Shartyrant, I know. I'm kinda hesitant to buy the book because I've hated Stryker so much. I don't really want him to have a HEA.

I just got One Silent Night so that is good to hear. Strange to have a "villian" as a hero so this should be interesting.

For Thanksgiving I'll be doing the same thing I've done the past 4 years, and that's going to Houston to visit my boyfriends parents. We do Christmas with my family.

Honestly, for the trip I mostly look forward to flying, and having uninterrupted reading time lol.

I have impulse control issues with book buying. I can stay out of bookstores and try not to go to Amazon too often. But if I had a Kindle I think I'd be in debt up to my eyeballs.
