A fan letter from my copy editor

Squee! My copy editor wrote me fanmail after Grimspace and Wanderlust. I wasn’t expecting more, so I’m thrilled to hear from him again.

Hi Ann:

Must confess that I was not looking forward to this book since it was hard for me to conceive how you could top either of the other two. Boy was I wrong. Really good stuff, both the love story and the main plot.

The [spoiler redacted] are simply overpowering. Got to the point where [spoiler redacted] and said to myself, You do not want to read this just before going to bed. Fortunately, I was right, as became clear the next day after finishing it. The [spoiler redacted] was so affecting I had to get up and walk around before being able to get back to the job. WOW!!!

Guess I’ve learned my lesson and, perhaps to your dismay, will expect the next one to be at least as good, if not better, than the other three.

Woohoo! Note: I really got this email today, it is not an April Fool, and Bob gave me permission to share.

I find the [spoiler redacted] thingys to be an unbearable tease.

But I’m glad Bob liked it.

You’re redacting just to tease us, aren’t you?

Don’t read before bedtime? Will I have nightmares if I do? Or will I be crying in the midst of your writing greatness?

I won an ARC of Blue Diablo from Dear Author and have to say that I had zero interest in reading this book when it showed up in my mailbox. (I thought I was getting Ilona Andrews and was a bit miffed! LOL) I decided I had to give it a chance and am so glad I did! I really liked this book and am looking forward to the next installment. How fast can you write??

I liked the story and the characters and could probably eat Chance with a spoon! There was a section of the book that gave me butterflies in my stomach and made my heart pound a bit harder than normal–I suppose I was empathizing with Corine during that part!

I am glad I didn’t get the Ilona Andrews book because now I’ve found a new author to enjoy! I hope to pick up Grimspace this weekend. Thanks!

Ahhhh…music to the readers ears…er…eyes. You do not want to read this just before going to bed.

Can’t wait. I’m counting the days for BLUE DIABLO too.

Seriously, how awesome is that? I’m wondering about the redacting too, especially since he/she did want to read it before going to sleep.
