All books in the lottery are signed. Here’s how this works. There will be “hot” times to comment, but you must comment often because you never know when you might get lucky. This contest runs until I have announced ALL the winners, at least one a day. No spamming, no random links. Your comment must contain content and pertain to the books or something a prior commenter has already said. Once I announce a winner, I will “reset” the contest, and we’ll begin again for the books left in the lottery.
Everyone understand how we play? I’ll start us off with a question, but feel free to let the conversation evolve. However, if you’re coming in later, and you can’t think of anything to say on your first comment, you can always answer this for your comment. (Do not answer it repeatedly; that will not win you anything.)
Which five (5) of these books are you most excited to read and why? Basically you make a wish-list for me, and I’ll regularly announce winners. So that’s it. There are some lovely, lovely books up for grabs, and a HUGE number of winners to be found.
By release day, April 6th, I will have given away ALL of these books. That just leaves one final giveaway: a $50 gift certificate to the bookstore of your choice. Anyone who has commented to date will be entered in that; the reset function doesn’t count for the grand prize, and each comment counts as one entry. The no spamming rule still applies, though. And go for it!

Just submitted a heap of author requests to my local library today. Does anyone else request their favourite authors books be stocked at their local libraries.
I try to request books now and again :) Mostly fantasy cos they seem to be willing to buy those…should request something again
would love to do that too, but I’m living in a small town and our library hasn’t “that kind of literature” like they say
Sometimes the library will purchase a request. But if they don’t have it within the county library system my library allows you to request an inter-library loan and they will try to get it from another library in the state.
I love my local library. They have an awesome selection, a great website, and super convenient locations. I usually only buy an authors books once I’ve read them and got a feel for their writing, so I check them out through the library, and when I fall in love, buy all their books like a mad woman!
My top 5 are still there:
1. Marked by Elisabeth Naughton

Good morning everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful day.
What are you reading?
I am currently reading The Seeker by Lindsay McKenna for work. And Promise of Pleasure by Chery Holt for review.
I really like both books
Right now, I am reading 2 things. One regular book and one e-book.
The regular book is The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting. It is YA book and really good.
The e-book, from my emergency I need to look like I am working when I am not collection, is Defiance. It is a collection of 3 short stories with a supernatural spin set during the Civil War. The authors are Laura Anne Gilman, Joely Sue Burkhart, Angela Korra’ti. I’ve read the first story by Gilman. It was good, but I knew that would be the case since I really enjoyed her Retriever series. Now, I am starting the other 2 which should be interesting since I have never read either author.
Katie,
I am reading normally also a print and an ebook.
I just started Time Travellers Never Die by jack McDevitt
I don’t normally do it, but I am at a customer site and can’t just whip out my regular book to read. That is why there is an emergency stash on my computer. :-D
Do you normally read one of each?
I am just starting Flirt by LKH.
right now im reading The Truth About Lord Stoneville for fun and Wild justice for review and two otehrs for review that i just started
Congrats Heather!!!
My new list! I have to get lucky one of these days. Right?
Elisabeth Naughton’s Marked
Jess Granger’s Beyond the Shadows
Erica Hayes’ Shadowglass
Moira Rogers’ Sanctuary
Diana Pharoah Francis’ Bitter Night
@Danny: I’m up to the second story in Laced with Desire – just a few pages so I’ve no feeling for it yet…
Congratulations Heather!!!

I’m doing well…the weather here in Ottawa turned crummy just outta nowhere…we had freezing rain today (WTF???
) we went from perfectly good spring weather to arrgh gloomy days out…I’m hoping this’ll change very swiftly…(I’m waving my fists at the ceiling hoping that Mother Nature is taking note of it
)
I’m currently reading Dreams Delivered by Jax Steele and planning on starting Something About You by Julie James next.
I am finally reading “Sins Of The Flesh” and loving Caterina and Mick!! Caridad has me now wanting the next book and have not finished this one yet.
Reading Amazon Ink by Lori Devoti next.

I’m going to modify my list…
Primordial by Denise Agnew
Marked by Elizabeth Naughton
Beyond the Shadows by Jess Granger, Leave Me Breathless by HelenKay Dimon Shadowglass by Erica Hayes
@ Ina
do you like anthologies? I am not usually such a big fan of anthologies.
I like anthologies, as long as I like the author. I’ve actually found some authors that I like by reading anthologies. But I think that some authors do a MUCH better job of writing short stories than others do. I can only imagine how hard it is to switch gears from writing a 90,000 word book, to a short anthology story…
I have a found a lot of great authors though anthologies.
Who are your favorites, Donna?
jackie b central texas
@Jackie: oh that are some of my fav authors too… but I haven’t read any authologies by them *gg* just the “ordinary” books…
Hunter’s Need
Sanctuary
Shadowglass
Bitter Night
Twist
@Danny… I like anthologies if only to entice me to new characters and authors.
Congrats Heather!!
@Danny: yeah me too, but I won this one and thought I would give it a try… normally the stories are too short for me and there are not enough pages to get a real feeling for the protas…
@ Miranda,
yeah anthologies are a great way to discover new authors.
@ Ina,
it’s true that the stories are very often too short. But I think it’s a good way to try a new author
for me it’s the other way around… I can’t get a real feeling for the author in a short story, I need more pages to discover the writing style, the world she (or he) created, the characters and the tension between them and so on…
I read short storys only when I know the author eg. Christine Feehan has some anthologies in her Carpathian Series and I read them because I won’t miss a part
Congrats Everyone! Hope that everyone’s day is starting out well…
Just about to start a book that was sitting in my TBR pile for a while… new author… Skin Game by Ava Gray…
I’m not so much a fan of anthologies… I will still buy them b/c there’s an author I really like, but I don’t end up enjoying the other stories as much… haven’t found one yet that I enjoyed all…
well… going back to work… bleh!

I was thinking about this the other day. Do your reading taste’s reflect in part at least what your parents read?
My parents introduced me to reading at a very early age (which actually helped my dyslexia). Mum in particular has always read Fantasy to some degree. My uncle read a lot of Sci Fi and I would borrow his books every chance I could.
Mum introduced me to Anne McCaffery and Andre Norton and my tastes kinda grew from there. As I got older I have added murder mysterys and similar but still retained that core interest in fantasy.
The closest my reading comes to is my dad’s audio books which are westerns. I enjoy reading western romances but out of all I read that is the only thing that comes kind of close.
Pretty much what I read I discovered on my own by trying different books and authors to find what I really liked.
My parents, well I have never seen them read. I honestly do not know where I got my love of reading from. So got no taste from them
jackie b central texas
@Emmad, my Father and I shared for years a love of Western books. Louis Lamour stories in particular. Growing up my teachers introduced me to Sci-Fi Fantasy, Mysteries, Thrillers and even Romance. Today I read these and also UF, PNR, and Historical or Time Travel Romance books…
jackie b central texas
Ohh I read Louis Lamour too. Haven’t for years but used to love reading those.
jackie b central texas
Hmm might have to go back to the library and reread some. Wonder if my uncles collection is still at my pops place
I’m a horsey person myself so always used to like the westerns.
Emmad, they never get old to re-read. I will not part with my favorites and yet for some reason have had no problem with other books leaving even a few by Nora Roberts have sent away and not worried one bit!!! Louis Lamour though being from my earliest reading memories will always be special to me…
jackie b central texas
Just noticed. For some reason I’ve just noticed the times on the postings. Says 3.02pm for my last comment. It’s 9.02am here so it just struck me as amusing hehe.
jackie b central texas
I am 6 hours ahead of EST.
*gg* I’m writing and posting and I ignore the time-stuff, because it only confuses me
but I’m in the same timezone with Danny…
@ Emmad,
do you live in Down under?
Reading taste and family: I come from a family of bookworms. My mom, grandpa are absolute bookworms, so I guess it’s a hereditary thing. Yeah I finally have an excuse for my addiction. LOL
Yep – New Zealand.
Was reading Jennifer Esteps blog this morning about the prices for books at walmart. We don’t have a walmart and our prices are more expensive even with the exchange rate. Imagine is due to shipping costs sigh.
@ Emmad,
same problem here. I live in Germany and I have huge problems with Amazon Germany. So I stopped buying there and buy the book during my US trips.
No WalMart, you guys do pay too much for books in New Zealand!! Here in the states if we did not have the big box store and used bookstores and such book buyers would go broke!
We might anyway, since love to shop for them all over the internet as well!
jackie b central texas
I tend to buy via online stores http://www.fishpond.co.nz or http://www.mightyape.co.nz for new books or http://www.trademe.co.nz for secondhand.
Sometimes if feeling down will sneak into a bookstore and treat myself to a book straight away. Really good when feeling blue but not good on the pocket. In a store I would pay US$18 for a book normally. Via the online stores don’t like to pay more than US$14 but can sometimes get them for US$12
yep, me too… I’m from Austria and the prices are a no-go
but I love my Book Depository account *gg*my wishlist there is almost as long as my amazon wishlist
The only thing I read in common with my parents is mysteries. My Mom likes those. My younger brother and I are the only ones who read horror, sci-fi and fantasy.
Sandy at least your Mom reads books, wish mine did. Since my father passed away it is just me reading. My Mom and my DH like magazines, newspapers and the TV, not books…
jackie b central texas
Most of my family are readers, but only mysteries and thrillers, too (which I also like); local friends, too, except one who will read scottish historicals. So it’s great having online friends who love to read and talk about all these other genres (historical, paranormal/UF and fantasy, sci-fi and futuristics) I love.
my mom and my sister only read thriller and mystery… not my kind of genre… I would love to share my love with others, but all friends I knew who read my genres I knew through the inet…
My mom reads romances, too. My grandpa loved historical fiction, but no one likes fantasy, so it’s just me.
Danny, who is your favorite Fantasy Author? What series right now?
jackie b central texas
Favorite fantasy authors are Jennifer Roberson & Maggie Furey.
Favorite series: Dragonlance Saga
I just love Dragons
Danny oh yes our Dragons, what is not to love in great big flying lizard who roasts us with fire! On the other hand I do love Dragon Shifters in the books written by Deborah Cooke, Yasmine Galenorn, Katie MacAlister and others of the type. They do not qualify as fantasy authors but do write fantastical tales with dragon shifters in them….
jackie b central texas
@ Jackie,
I love to got book shopping when I am in the States. It’s so much more fun to go through a real bookstore instead of ordering online
My list:
Marked by Elisabeth Naughton
Beyond The Shadows by Jess Granger
Shadowglass by Erica Hayes
The Stranger’s Secrets by Beth Williamson
Leave Me Breathless by Helenkay Dimon
jackie b central texas
oh, I envy you… here in Europe we don’t have those kind of shops… or the shipping costs are incredible
@ Jackie, have you read Allyson James’s Dragon books, they are great.
@ Jackie,
do you mean A Romance haven? I bought tons of books there in the past, but haven’t since there is no longer surface mail.
Danny no it is a place called BookTraders.com and I just got a box of 16 books in almost perfect shape for the least amount they allow with no s&h and no tax for me, all of them under $3 or less and totalled out to $25.15 and I am thrilled…
jackie b central texas
goody another place to check out for books.
jackie b central texas
Hey Jackie,

what’s the exact URL for the booktraders place b/c I tried booktraders.com and nothing shows up
@Anna: maybe she means that one: http://www.abooktrader.com/
@ Jackie,
wow that is cool. Have to keep that one in mind when I am back in the States.
Thanks for the link Jackie, I am going to head over and check it out.
I just finished putting down 20 more books on my TBR list and put the books in my poor shelves, need to get off my computer and start reading more!!!
Jackie, did you know Allyson James is also Jennifer Ashley (Madness of Ian Mackenzie, a big reader favorite last year). She also has some older historical mysteries as Ashley Gardner, which I’m getting into now.
LOL. I know the problem with tbr piles only too well. It’s hard to choose when you have such a huge variety to choose from.
and it’s even harder when you buy new books in spite of everything
Especially after I got high speed internet access, it really messed up my reading a book every 4 hours or so. Now spend too much time on my blog working on posts are on other blogs reading theirs…
jackie b central texas
I know that not enough time problem. I have so many books to read and just keep adding more to the pile…I never seem to be able to catch up.
Katie, my problems started with all the wonderful sales last year at Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years and have not stopped because keep finding more books cheap and yet not reading them. I will, just have to sit down and do so. In the meantime though my wish list is still huge because am interested to read so much that is out there…
This is the one thing in the world that can truly say has become a hoarder or obsession problem for me, and I love my books!!!!
jackie b central texas
Jackie, I know how you feel about having so much you are interested in reading. The pile never really goes down…
oh, I know the problem too… the internet is already my addiction… I love reading too, but I spend more time during the week around on the internet than reading
but my TBR is growing every week because I can’t withstand buying news book I found on different blogs *gg*
My problem got worse when I started with ebooks. I borrowed my Dad’s pda because he never used it and a year ago I bought a Sony reader. Now the range to choose from is even larger. But I at least I have no problems to get the ebooks.
I have of course read all the short novellas and even printed them out and put them in a three ring binder notebook to re-read. The long books 300 pages and more will not try and print but have read some and need to read the rest…
Again, too many and not enough time to just sit down that long and only read…
jackie b central texas
Oh Danny I’ve just had a look at Allyson James’s website. Will have to look out for some of her books.
Thanks :)
@ Emmad,
her books seriously rocks. I love them.
Congratulations, Heather!!!
jackie b central texas

Good morning everyone,
I am off to an early doc appointment. I might have to have a surgery and I am not happy about it.
Oh no, Danny, hope it’s nothing serious, but take of care of what’s needed and feel better. Let me know how it turns out. (pambook).
oh, Danny that doesn’t sound good!! hope all will be ok!! *hugs*
Congrats to Heather! See I need to revise my list a bit:
1. Marked arc by Naughton (really want to try her new series since I loved the Stolen series
2. Vampire’s Quest by Vivi
3. Rose of Shanhasson – Burkhart
4. Sanctuary – Moira Rogers
5. Shadowglass – Hayes (new author I’d like to try.
I just went and read some reviews about the Burkhart book and put it my personal want list now. Always like stories with magic and have getting more and more into epic fantasy themes. One comment said it had a medieval feel, too, which I love, so that’s another appeal for me. One of the things I loved about Elizabeth Vaughan’s trilogy (Warprize, etc.), it had a medieval overtone.
wtg winners

Congrats to Chelsea, Christie and Heather!
My updated list:
Megan Hart – No Greater Pleasure
HelenKay Dimon – Leave Me Breathless
Jess Granger – Beyond the Shadows

Good morning *singing* today I’m in a really good mood and I hope that will last for the day
Hi everyone,
my day didn’t start well. My ankle is in plaster for at least three weeks.
oh, Danny, how did that happened??? get well soon *hugs*
@ Ina,
the ankle overstreched several month ago and it hurt like hell. I went to a doc and he told me it was only bruised. So I had crutches for about a month, than I got sick and had bedrest for several weeks. The ankle got better but never completely okay. After I started using the foot again the pain got worse again and I went to another doc, who told me the first one didn’t do a good job. So after four more weeks of treatment and lots of pain I got a plaster this morning. I couldn’t do anything that I had planned for spring break. I just wished that he had plastered it four weeks ago.
@Danny: oh, I would be so angry about that first doc – his job is to make it better not the other way
and I’m so sorry for your plans *hugs* maybe the weather will be bad so you can stay in? *sendingflowers*
Ina, what is on the agenda for today? Any good books?
jackie b central texas
Thanks Ina,
I am really angry about both docs, because each of them made mistakes. When I got to the second one I especially asked him if he could do something so that the leg would be able to rest, but nothing. I shouldn’t have been surprised because I have been there for 6 six months and I am still waiting for a presciption for physical therapy. Each time he says next time I will get it. And now walking with crutches won’t help my back pain.
@Danny: can’t you go directly to the hospital or the physical therapist? there must be something to do!!
@ Ina, @Danny and everyone else. Good morning this fine Wednesday, middle of the week is already here again.
Ina you sound so chipper and that is good, must be sun shining where you are!
Danny just hope that you get better without the surgery and yes it would have been nice if the first doctor would have put you in a cast, might have had your ankle well by now…
@Pam did not know Allyson James was also Jennifer Ashley, not surprised though almost every author I have not read has an AKA… I am going to try out the Dragon books though…
Jackie B Central Texas
yep, definitively sun
I’m sitting in the library at the university and waiting for me next course and chatting here with you! and it’a already Wednesday – a perfect day for me :)
Our term won’t start for another three weeks.
*searchingforanenvioussmiley*
@ Jackie,
wow you are an really early bird this morning.
@ Ina,
I went to a hospital early January and they told me how important it is that I get PT, they also stressed this need in the report that my doc got, but he doesn’t seem to care. Now he 2 weeks on vacation from this weekend onward, so I won’t be able to get a prescription and I don’t think that I will get one when I have my next appointment on April 15th. He knows that I have constant back pain and that it will now gets worse, but he doesn’t care.
what an assh**** (sorry for saying that, but he doesn’t act like a doc should!)
He is definitely one. I really could kick his butt all day long.
@Jackie: the next book I will read is Hidden Currents by Christine Feehan – it’s the 7th book of her Drake Sister series and I loved the other books, but I’ve heard a lot of bad things about that one…
and I’m currently reading my first (!!) ebook
No Matter what by Erin Nicholas and I really like it…it’s nothing paranormal and I think it will be a keeper in my ebook-bookshelf *gg*
and you? what are you reading? or doing?
Jackie B Central Texas
really? you liked it? my friend was startled because of the SPOILER abuse SPOILER…and she said that the whole book was influenced because of that…
@ Ina,
be careful ebooks can be addictive. LOL
so far, I read it only during courses when my prof talks about boring things
but lately I won some ebooks and I’ve to read them too
I started with ebooks that I won, too and than started addiction and I have a really bad case of it. LOL
I’m so glad my mistress found a new home! Heather, I hope you have as much fun reading Mistress by Mistake as I did writing it. :)
Hi Maggie,
great to see you here. Mistress by mistake is high on my tbb list for the next US trip
@Jackie B: you mentioned your blog above and now it’s your fault that I don’t learn for my course because I’ve to explore your blog
and the first impression was very very good!!
Ina, check the blog now and see what happened. My Mail just posted for the last 3 Mail pickups and you might see some books you might like!!!
jackie b central texas
oh, wow, your list is amazing!!! enjoy Stephanies books – the series is reallly great!
and a new series for my wishlist – Chris Marie Green sounds gorgeous!! have you already started with it?
*willcontinueexploring*
@Ina, you been blog hopping on my little goofie place!!
Now on to Hidden Currents again. “Like”
is maybe to strong a word, read and enjoyed parts of is a better way to put it.
Ina, if you mean what took place with the youngest sister it was off putting yes. However if you take it for what it is, the next step in line to getting all the sisters their HEA then it was all par for the course of the story line. This book was rather shocking from the view point of some readers, but think about the fact that all the books Feehan writes are very graphic and it kind of puts it into perspective…
I would not say that makes this installment any better or any worse just kind of harder to read this particular story line..
jackie b central texas
thanks for your opinion! now I can’t wait to read it and see for myself…
Strange,
I love Christine Feehan’s Dark, Leopard and Ghostwalker books but I never got hooked with the Sister series.
@ Danny the Leopards series by Feehan is my favorite of all of them followed by the Ghost Walkers. I am partial to shifter stories and then the paranormal abilities that have been created for the Walkers keep me coming back for more, gotta see what Feehan gives as a “power” to what character!
Jackie B Central Texas
yeah, I do that usually too, but my friend has almost the same opinion… but I will see!
Ina, really hope you read it and it does not turn you off to the series. Like I said it is some strong content but it goes with the storyline created for the character and as a female reader will tell you had to put it down a few times and walk away…
I still think it is a good story though…
jackie b central texas

Wow, I just popped in to see why I haven’t been getting anymore comments sent via email & was shocked to see my name winning! Thank you! I can’t wait to read it.
jackie b central texas
I know!
Updating my wishlist.
1. Shadowglass
2. Marked
3. The Vampire’s Quest
4. Goddess of the Hunt
Please explore, there is all kinds of goodness especially the ATUF link for contests and stuff on every Wed when she does the post I try to create a link on the blog for every one to go check out…
Jackie B Central Texas
Good morning everyone!
Had a late start this am b/c of having to take my car in… bleh… It wasn’t so bad cuz I was able to do some reading the hour I was there…
*fanning* Skin game is very hot! Whewww! about 3/4 through… It’s awesome!
glad that I’m having a slow day at work so I can read :-) I have an awesome job… I get paid to read! lol… that wasn’t officially on the job description but it’s a perk…
BTW… love going back and reading all the comments… you guys are bad influences however… now I’ve gotta go check out the websites/blogs/authors you all mentioned!
I’m going to have to check Skin Game out since I’m reading it’s so good. I was going to “kindle” it but maybe I should buy a hard copy since my library doesn’t own it.
We are not trying to be a bad influence on you, just hope that you are having fun too!
jackie b central texas
Wouldn’t that be great to have a job where we could read?! At least part of the time? I can read but I since I am self-employed I don’t get paid for it.
I finished reading Blue Dieblo during my “worktime” – I really have little self-control when I am reading a good book.
@ Erin,
great job, you have. My job had it in the prescription, I am currently reading the Nocturne Time Raider series for work
lol… I can read “hot” books here at work b/c I hide the covers… I’m pretty sure they would disapprove if they knew… we have a lot of downtime so they don’t care that we read… we just have to “look” busy/professional…
Heather… Skin Games is by an author we all know and love *winkwink*
Danny… you’re sooo lucky… I always wanted to “read” professionally but I don’t think that I could write reviews… I usually like most anything… but I only *luv* a few…
Jackie… I’m having a lot of fun… I just said influence cuz I’m on a book allowance! which I have to stick to… I do! Cuz I’m more than capable of reading myself out of house and home…
jackie b central texas
Congratulations to all the winners so far. I’ve lost a few of my original picks but there are still some great books here!
My new top 5:
Shiloh Walker’s Hunter’s Need.
Moira Rogers’ Sanctuary.
Diana Pharoah Francis’ Bitter Night.
Cynthia Eden’s Eternal Hunter.
Colby Hodge’s Twist.
Wish we had down time at work to read. I never seem to get caught up with work that’s waiting to be done.
Glad to hear though that you use book covers because it would be a shame if the “boss” confiscated your reading material Erin…

jackie b central texas
Reviewing is not my job, that’s just fun, but I work for a German romance publisher. I read books and write reports about them. Okay there are certain similarities between reviewing and my job
Danny that sounds like a dream job. Awesome!
But hey, it’s a job.
I mostly write for safety companies and writing about fall harnesses, lanyards and PPE – not quite as interesting.
It’s a great job Heather, only problem is that it is free lancing, so I am still studying to become a teacher on the side
Danny what kind of teacher, if you do not mind me asking?
jackie b central texas
Danny-I’m curious too in what level/subject you want to teach. I use to be a High School Social Studies teacher. Once I had kids I couldn’t break even with child care costs. :-( I found that kids were usually great but it was the parents that could be scary.
Heather you have to consider it your part in keeping the klutzes who use the equipment, like me, from using it wrong…
Like you said, it is not writing about books but it is a job which in today’s economy is worth keeping even when boring or stressful…
jackie b central texas
Bon appetit Jackie!
My dad is getting me some ice cream. He said no that I have the cast I can’t put I on the ankle, but I could eat some. Nice idea.
@ Jackie,
I am going to teach German, English and History. Plus I am working on getting a special certificate for German as second/foreign language
Somehow I stopped getting notifications of comments. I thought everyone was being really quiet today. : )
Wow is it only me or did Ann just changed the design of the blog?
Big congrats to all the winners so far.
My list is still pretty much intact:
Marked
Beyond The Shadows
Shadowglass
The Stranger’s Secrets
Leave Me Breathless
Heather,
I really want to teach High school in the States, but I will start with elementary school here in Germany this summer.
Wow Danny, German English and History that is diversified curriculum. Came back and it scared me for a minute when saw the new format…
jackie b central texas
I already had a master degree in English literature and history, but went back to get my teaching degree, so I added German, too. The work as translator etc. is freelancing and that was too risky for me, so I do that on the side.
Yeah the new format shocked me a little bit, too.
Heather you were a brave lady teaching High School Social Studies, remember my classes in HS and my classmates mostly hated that particular teacher and class. I on the other hand being a geek and loving to learn about things other than parties loved the social studies class, teacher was neutral on…
I used to do child care for a while and know what you mean, I earned more staying home taking care of the person’s child almost than they actually got to keep because of transportation costs, meals, child care and clothes….
jackie b central texas
I have to admit that I have a great boss. He lets me read when we aren’t too busy which is good otherwise I might go insane from inactivity.
I like the new blog design
@Jackie I checked out your blog I’ve been wanting to read stephanies books but haven’t got around to it yet.
Delitealex, some time in the very near future am going to sit down and read the Seals books by Stephanie. I heard so much about them during the promo tour that she did and then read some of her other work and got hooked.
jackie b central texas
I am signing off for the night.
Good luck in todays drawing.
See you all in the morning
Night Danny, see you tomorrow..
Hope you get some rest, if your ankle and back let you…
jackie b central texas
I’m not sure about the new design. It seems kind of stark but it does load faster.
Sandy, you can bet it does load much faster. Simplify these things and they zip…
Not as pretty to look at but very easy to change things…
jackie b central texas
wow, I’m away for a few hours and here comes a new design up!!! I looks great, but I miss the “Reply here” option…but I love the colours and the modern style!
@Danny: good night – see you tomorrow *hugs*
Jackie-
I taught American History, Sociology, Current Events, and Econ – there’s always someone who loves/hates your subject. I taught remedial Civics one summer – that was the summer from hell. Trying to teach kids who flunked 2-3 times already & need to pass…
My neighbor $1000 a month for childcare for one! That would have been half my paycheck.
What do you do now Jackie if you don’t mind me asking?
Danny- I was born in Frankfurt, Germany but I don’t speak any German. Loved visiting when I was traveling through Europe.
@delitealex: Stephanies series is really great and I enjoyed reading it!! strong protas and interesting stories… I’m not sure but I think a new series will come out soon…
@Heather: how does it come you were born in Germany but don’t speak German? I think we have to teach you some ;)
@Ina-
Dad was in the army & mom taught at the English school. They moved back when I was still a baby. Would love to speak a second language (took Spanish for 4 plus years & my teacher would just shake her head.)
Larenna–You’re lucky! I can sneak in a page or two here or there, but that’s about it. : )
Has anyone read Joann Ross High Risk series. Did you enjoy them. I seem to be on a military theme kick lately.
Danny, how frustrating for you. Don’t know about medical care over there, here I’d have switched doctors by now most likely.
Heather, sorry got caught up in another conversation elsewhere. I do not mind you asking what I do now, simply put as little as possible.. Kidding, no longer work a “job” but am full time at home after many years of working full time and taking care of everything else during lunch breaks and before and after work and on weekends. My DH makes enough now to support the 2 of us and our little furry fiends so it worked out 8 years ago to where I got to stay home full time. I am an only child so because of my parents health and age moved them in to live with us almost 4 years ago. Dad passed last June and now it is just my Mom. Between her Dr visits, the grocery runs, WalMart, Post Office and taking care of all the sundry things in the house and
our 1/4 acre of yard it keeps me busy. I have plenty of play time, but not a lot of “rest” time because do not sleep well at night due to insomnia. I am glad to be out of the rat race of the job market, very glad…
Sorry this is too long, I am wordy…
jackie b central texas
delitealex I have read the first one and it was good. I need to get the other books in the series but I think it is worth getting. :-)
Ina, Stephanie has a brand new series and it is looking hot with the new guys Zane and Cam. Shadow Force book 1 out in October and book 2 out in November of 2010. I am very excited to see these come out back to back almost!!!!
jackie b central texas
Lol… I leave for a while and you guys shake everything up! I like the new format…
I work in a medical field that’s “hurry up and wait” so I get to read a lot… love it… work w/ kids but the kids don’t love me :) Don’t blame them… can’t tell them that I’m doing mean things to help them feel better… I’m just mean period…
Hope that everyone’s having a great day! Wrapping up for the day… see ya all tomorrow!
See ya tomorrow Erin, have a good evening!
jackie b central texas
@Heather: ah, ok, that way you had no chance to learn it ;)
ah, I know that language problem – had Italien for years at school and now I forgot all of it!!! I had to learn a lot and now it’s all gone *sigh* too bad.
Stephanies Shadow Force series sound good more books to add to my already long wish list.
@Jackie B.: thanks for the information!! I’m glad to hear that and will def keep them in mind! and it’s great that we don’t have to wait forever to read them :D
@all: I’m leaving too – good night, sweet dreams and see you all tomorrow!!
I thought I was at the wrong site. The new look took me by surprise.
Hey Ina, is it not nice that she has them coming out with very little in between release times? I have looked on her site but no info yet on any more in the series..
She does have several more besides these in the release work though..
Breaking for a while my back is telling me to get up and move around and need to take care of some other chores again too… Later and good luck…
jackie b central texas
@ Pam,
during my university time I don’t have my private health insurance and so I can only change docs every 3 months. As soon as I am back in private, which will hopefully be this summer I will never see this doc again.
I love the new site. It looks great!
I sure got surprised too, I was all what? Great new look!
The new format is cool! I like it! :-D
Hah, I wondered what happened to the party. I get the comments in my feedreader, and they suddenly stopped. It took me a while to think to check for a new post!
@emmad – “Do your reading taste’s reflect in part at least what your parents read?”
Not at all. My Dad reads a lot, at least he used to when he had time, but he doesn’t read fiction and my Mom rarely reads anything. They both frown on my Romance reading. :(
Morning everyone *chuckle*
Oh wow love the new format. And the progress bar at the top is very cool to.
Will have to go look around again :)
Finished Eileen Wilks Tempting Danger last night. Very good.
With Christine Feehan I prefer the Shadowalker series.
Wow, had to hunt to find what had happened to the lottery, finally found this new page. It really changed around here in a day! The wall is on it’s side, but I’ve seen them laid that way before, not an easy task. Love the color scheme, has an eerie dusky feel. Great work!
Morning Emmad, love the Rule and Lily books, have to read the latest one soon…
The Ghost Walkers by Feehan has some interesting twists and turns that is for sure. Street Game is sitting there, need to read it already…
jackie b central texas
I recently read the latest rule and lily book and loved it. I have to catch up on the ghostwalker series
I knew when I was typing I didn’t have the name quite right lol.
Ghost Walkers it is. I’ve read Street Game nahnah.
Found my library have the 2nd and 3rd Rule and Lily books so have placed a hold on them.
Just finished reading Nicole Peeler’s Tempest Rising – a fabulous book. I’d really love to win Erica Hayes’ Shadowglass. She’s a new author for me and the book sounds like a great read.
Emmad, you are too much. You are however truly going to become addicted to lily and rules shenanigans… And Street Game is calling but have others want to read right now, I keep saying that too much about every book on the stack. That is why they keep getting left on the stack:)
jackie b central texas

I know I haven’t been around too much lately…I’m going through withdrawal from my meds so I’ve kinda been sick as a dog. I’m going to the doctor on Saturday since he won’t be in before then.
Regarding the question about where I picked up my love of reading…it’s really funny since my Mum doesn’t really read books all that often… She’s a fashion magazine hound…for as long as I can remember she’d be reading those so I guess that’s how I fell in love with the written word. She does occasionally read romances and I did discover the genre via her stash of Barbara Cartland novels so I owe my fascination with the genre to her.
modified list
Primordial by Denise Agnew

“Morning Emmad, love the Rule and Lily books, have to read the latest one soon…”
Jackie-I love Lily and Rule too! I just “discovered” them & bought the last 3 in the series. Totally went over book allowance to do that! I like Cynna and Cullen tons too – maybe almost as much. My all time fave couple is Mercy & Adam (Patricia Briggs) although the Mercy Thompson series is urban fantasy not a romance.
My all time fave couple is Bones and Cat from the Night huntress series I have to get the spin off book Drop of Crimson.
Night Anna, Heather, Lauren, Delitealex and and Terri. Have a good one and Anna you take care being sick from meds withdrawal is not fun for anyone…
Tomorrow and good luck all…

Good morning everyone!
lol… so found out last night that my 7 mo. old puppy is worth at least $147… how do I know you ask? Cuz, he ate that much! he got a hold of a wallet and proceeded to shred… got home and found pieces of money scattered around… being as cheap as I am, I attempted to tape it all back together, but of course the biggest bill he ate (a 100) is unsavable… siiiigh… luckily it wasn’t my money but I guess we learned to start puppy proofing the house better…
Everyone have an awesome day today!
Let’s see…
Jess Granger – Beyond the Shadows (The reviews have been amazing so far)
and adding Eternal Hunger because of all the recs for it
and the ARC of Marked because the cover looks delicious.
Another one bites the dust…let’s add Twist.
Last, but not least, The Vampire’s Quest. Marta Acosta talked this one up BIG time. Very curious about it.
Erin – Don’t you love puppies? LOL I had to pit bull puppies who used to chew through their leashes, claw out of their kennel (also known as the hallway), and through any and all pieces of clothing left on the floor. : )
good morning everybody.
my list
1. Eternal Hunter
2. Hunters Need
3. Bitter Night
4. Goddess of the Hunt
5. Cowboy from christmas Past
pam- the stolen series is on my wishlist. Do you remember the name of the first in the series.
Erin,
That’s an expensive puppy!
omigosh Erin…that’s hilarious…the puppy sure has expensive tastes :)
don’t I know it! And he’s usually so good! This was more of a “tantrum” b/c we left to go to the store… I think my baby has hit the puppy terrible 2′s …
FYI…skin game was AWESOME! can’t wait for the next… I just got Moira Roger’s Crux in the mail yesterday and I”m so exited! Started Nancy Holzner’s Deadtown which is great so far and will tell you guys all ’bout Crux which I will be reading next.
Thanks again so much Ann!

Erin, your pup sounds adorable even when bad!
Good afternoon all, late start today and coming in at lunchtime here.
Sunny warming up so probably play time indoors is over as outside work is calling!!!
Have a good day and good luck to all.
jackie b central texas
Hi Jackie,
did you see that you won a book at Juliana Stone’s blog? Big congrats
Hey Danny Thanks, woke up to an email from a friend telling me had gotten my companion book for Lauren’s others on my shelf. Pretty isn’t it.
How is today going for you Danny?
It is beautiful weather here so after eating will be finally getting to do some more yard work on shrub trimming!!! Hopefully no more rain for a while.
jackie b central texas
Congrats to the winners :)
Jackie,
thought I would let you know, because you easily loose the overview over the different blogs. LOL.
Thanks for asking how I am doing. At the moment is my back and ankle killing me. As long as I keep my weight of my ankle the pain is bearable, but my back is killing me, walking on crutches isn’t the best thing for it.
Hey Danny, knew you said the back pain was pretty constant. I am sorry for that, know how much any kind of back problems make us miserable and continuous pain is the worst thing because cannot relax to sleep or really even rest!
Glad though the ankle is bearable, long time till you see a doctor again…
Take care and thanks for thinking of me and I am an OCD freak about emailing the stuff to myself with the page and comment to check back on when enter anything!!!
There are a few though that have forgotten to do so with…
jackie b central texas
Jackie,
that is a great idea with the emailing, because I forget the stuff sometimes, especially if the drawing is in a few days.
Congratulations Barbara!!
Hi everyone, and happy reading Barbara.

Delitealex – Naughton’s series order:
Stolen Fury
Stolen Heat
Stolen Seduction
Jackie – have you tried Google Reader to keep track of blogs? It’s a big help for me knowing where to check back. You can scroll quickly through your subscriptions and click on posts you want to get to, and “star” particular ones you want to get back to for followup. I didn’t follow many until a friend suggested using Google Reader.
So how is the weather for everyone? Here it snowed yet again, like we need more snow
I want to play with what is left again, so much fun
Jess Granger
Beyond the Shadows
Diana Pharoah Francis
Bitter Night
Vivi Anna
The Vampire’s Quest
Cynthia eden
Eternal Hunter
Joely Sue Burkhart
Rose of Shanhasson
The weather is pretty nice here we haven’t gotten much snow.
Thanks for the list Pam do you have a favorite book of the series.
Hi everyone
Congratulations Barbara :)
Do you read different types of books depending on your moods?
I know after I’ve read something that really sucks me in and takes over I like to just get a light romance where I know boy meets girl they have issues then live happily every after lol.
If I’m having a rough time in real life like a book that will suck me in so I can forget about the other issues for a while.
My top 5 remains the same. For now.
Shiloh Walker’s Hunter’s Need.
Moira Rogers’ Sanctuary.
Diana Pharoah Francis’ Bitter Night.
Cynthia Eden’s Eternal Hunter.
Colby Hodge’s Twist.
Crossing my fingers!
Sometimes I’m in the mood for a fantasy book with a whole new world or a light hearted romance.
@Pam – I didn’t know about the google reader. It sounds like a handy little tool. I’ll have to check it out! Thanks!
wtg winners
wtg elizabeth on the rita nom

Didn’t know about google reader either – thanks!
I’m completely addicted to Google Reader…I would be clueless as to what’s going on in the blogosphere without it.
You can just copy a URL of a blog – click on add to subscription and follow the blog…I even have custom feeds for sites that aren’t blogs but I want to be uptodate on their latest posts so you follow the same steps and it’ll do a site synopsis whenever there’s new content. It’s a really nifty program to use…worth looking into for all blogaholics :)
Have a wonderful night everyone…Friday is just around the corner :)
i love the google reader sad thing is i sometimes forget all about it i am rather forgetful at times

3. Rose of Shanhasson – Burkhart
4. Sanctuary – Moira Rogers
5. Beyond the Shadow – Granger
Delitealex on Naughton:
I still have to read the 3rd. Stolen Seduction. I think of the first two, I’d have to go with the first, Stolen Fury as my favorite. Strong, feisty heroine, and the hero, Rafe, is very charming and sexy. These two had great chemistry.
BTW, I see she’s been nominated for Ritas, for Stolen Fury and as Debut Author, congratulations to Elisabeth.
My top 5 are still there:
1. Marked by Elisabeth Naughton
2. Leave Me Breathless by HelenKay Dimon
3. Bitter Night by Diana Pharaoh Francis
