The Last Jax Cover Reveal Ever

Typing those words made me a little sad. This is a bittersweet revelation, but I’m so happy for Jax, and so moved by all you readers who tell me how much you love her. Thank you for sticking with us through six books, but do come back for the Dread Queen series in 2013, okay? It’s a spinoff set in the Jax universe, so you won’t want to miss it.

Now, without further ado, here’s the final Jax cover, my lovelies.
Endgame cover

Squee! Isn’t it AMAZING? Scott Fischer has done all my Jax covers, and he outdid himself on the last hurrah. This might be my favorite cover of the whole series. I love everything about it: her expression, her intensity, her battle readiness, the gritty feel and the pose, the gorgeous background detail, and the stark colors. I could go on.

What do you guys think? In fact, I care so much about your opinions that I’ll run a contest around this cover reveal; the giveaway will run until Tuesday, April 17th. I’ll pick a winner then. What do you get?

I’ll send the first five Jax books to a lucky winner! What do you have to do to enter? Speak up in comments, don’t be shy. Just answer this simple question:

What do you think of the Endgame cover, and which of the Jax books has your favorite art?

Love the blue with the yellow text. I think this is my favorite.

  2. Amy Stender says:

I think the last, Endgame, is the best cover of them all. It matches the finality of the series; Jax’s pose, the way she’s geared for battle, her expression as if to say “We all know the odds are against us coming back from this.” All these elements and more let the reader know that this is the end, and it’s going to be one hell of a ride.

  3. Cathiag says:

I love this cover, and I have loved this series. I will miss Jax. I hope she ends up where she needs to be with the ones she loves. Yes I love a happy ending.

  4. Amanda Freeman says:

This one is my favorite!! The scene itself is really amazing but her expression is what I love. It’s like she has one single thought and a million thoughts at the same time. I agree this one just blows the others away!!

  5. Bine Beard says:

I like really like that Endgame cover. Jax looks ready for serious business. I also really like the Grimspace one where she is just setting out for her space adventures

  6. glossaria says:

Whoa. Is that a random architectural element she’s standing on, or a BFG (Big Effing Gun)? I think thus ties with the Grimspace cover for my favorite. In a lot of ways it feels like a full-circle with that cover– same “just chillin’ for a bit between rounds of buttkicking… and you could be next on my list” vibe.

  7. Marissa says:

Damn, that is some fine, smokin hot artwork! Jax looks soooo appropriately fierce!! I’m gonna cry so hard when it’s over! :'(
I think Doubleblind was my favorite, with Killbox a close second, until this one!
You can be damn sure I will be back for the spin off, and *anything* else you plan on writing! (I’m just your regular, obsessed, devoted, fangirl for life!) :-D

  8. rissatoo says:

It’s GORGEOUS!! What a beautiful cover to say goodbye to Jax with! Scott did you proud.
I am both ‘I can’t wait to get my hands on Endgame!’, and ‘I don’t want it to end!’
    Waaaaah!

  9. jaymzangel says:

Such an amazing, badass cover! A fitting end for the last book

  10. Ann Aguirre says:

So glad you guys love it too!

Glossaria, that’s the barrel of an AA gun. There is definitely heavy ordnance in this book, so it’s fitting. This is the only book where I’ve attempted to write the insurgent perspective of a ground war.

  11. David says:

    Crazy awesome. :D Yep.

    • David says:

And I would have to say that my favorite cover would be Aftermath. Mostly because I just dig the color, scene, background and pretty much everything about it. Plus she looks the most bad ass in that picture too. :) Although she is looking pretty dang swank on the End Game cover too. :)

  12. The cover is totally kickass!! My fave was Killbox.

  13. Hello,

I just discovered your website and books via Twitter. Congrats on an amazing cover for the culmination of your Jax series – I agree that the cover art here is fantastic. Since I just discovered you as an author I have yet to be introduced to the world of Jax and I’m hoping to win this amazing contest so that I can finally see what Ms. Feehan and your other readers clearly know is an epic adventure.

Now what do I think of the Endgame cover? From the descriptions of Jax in reviews and book excerpts on Amazon it seems that this cover is spot on. The image of her crouching, slightly hunched, almost feral while she looks directly into *our* eyes is haunting but in a good way. I want to know who or what she’s looking at, what the hell she’s standing on and more about her. The cover gives me a glimpse into Jax’s psyche – now I want to know her history, her background and her agenda. I like the 3-dimensional city in the background as well – gives a post-apocalyptic vibe (for someone who hasn’t read the books yet). The watermark above Jax’s head is also drawing me in. I can’t tell if it’s some kind of technology or more representative of the natural landscape of the planet she’s on.

Anyway those are my thoughts. And from a personal perspective – Jax kind of looks like a badass. Which always makes a fun read. Now which cover did I like the best? If was a strong tie but I’ll have to say….duh duh da duh….the Aftermath cover. Why? Well, I’m glad you asked. Let’s go into technical details – with the Endgame cover I’m curious as to who or what she’s looking at.

With the Aftermath cover I’m curious as what she’s doing. This question will probably be answered when I read the book but I can’t tell if she’s flying toward something or away from something, jumping toward something or away from something. Mostly because her lower body is thrusting in a different direction than her upper body. That sense of mystery is good! I want to know what is she is doing and I know I have to read the book to find out. I’m also a fan of the old-school blade she’s wielding and color scheme of the background.

  14. Bec McMaster says:

Ooh, I love it! Its a perfect ending to the series and in a way it reminds me a little of Grimspace, which is my fave cover. The whole, circling round effect. Jax looks totally fierce!

  15. Paris says:

I really loved Grimspace and Killbox, but I think Endgame is my favorite. The colors, the scene, her expression. I love that this Jax is as far removed from Grimspace Jax as she truly is in the books. On the cover of Grimspace she looks tired and kind of unsure. On this cover she looks fierce and determined and strong. I love these books and I am so sad that Jax’s story is ending, but I look forward to reading more in her universe.

  16. Cathy says:

I really do love these covers, they’re so distinctive, I know what series I’m looking at at a glance, they reflect what’s happening in the books at the time, and they’re just beautiful. I do think the new one might be my favorite just because she looks so strong and confident, but of I had to pick from the others, I think I might pick Wanderlust because it really showcased what was happening with her at the time. She had her hair cut, and the expression and body language seemed to show her growing sensitivity and confidence somehow. Thanks for the opportunity to win the books! Congratulations on writing one of the most special series I’ve read and I’m looking forward to the new series (and the new Corine book).

  17. Carina Olsen says:

Ohh! I love this cover! :D Think it is my favorite :) I have never read these books of yours before; so I would love love love to win them. <3 Thank you so much for giving them all away :D You are the best.
    Love, Carina

  18. Rebecca says:

For favorite, I’m tied between this and “Aftermath”; I love the dynamic pose on that one, but this one is very badass. And I like the color scheme of “Endgame” better, especially the little details like the pop of green in the goggles.

  19. Marjorie says:

This one is my favorite, you’re right about the artist, he did out do himself. Favorite before that was aftermath, he does better every time. :sniffle: I will miss Jax but am excited for spinoff! :)

  20. evening-green says:

I love the new cover! I think it’s the best one from the series, Aftermath cover is second.
Glad the new cover turned out that good.

  21. Just a flurry of emotions. Excited, I can’t wait to get this book to see what happens.:) Sad, it’s the last Jax book! :( But all great things must come to an end, so I’m thrilled I made the journey. And looking forward to Dread Queen!

Wow! This is another amazing cover of Jax! I don’t know if I can pick a favorite. I love Grimspace, and Doubleblind because of the surroundings. I even loved Aftermath too. But this one kind of reminds me of Grimspace, coloring more than anything.

Love the look of Jax here. Congrats!!

  22. Madison says:

Wow! Great cover. Sorry to see the series end but it’s been a great ride.

  23. Brenda Hyde says:

Everyone else said the obvious that I liked– the big ass gun, her expression etc. The first thing that popped into my head though was that she looked like she was getting ready to kick ass with APPROPRIATE clothing! The boots, the pants, a tank top–and hair that isn’t perfect. I love it.

  24. Jen D. says:

It is absolutely amazing! The cover puts you on notice that it’s about to go down.

  25. Ilona says:

I love this latest cover – like everyone says it’s so Jax and, in it’s own way, so final too. I have to admit that it will replace Grimspace as my favourite cover once I own it :D

  26. scooper says:

Okay, just finished looking at all the covers on GoodReads. I think Endgame is my fav. cover and Wanderlust my least fav. cover. The white in the background makes me think this is the light at the end of a troubling tunnel. The heroine stance, gun and facial expression makes me think she is a tough chick waiting for her enemies to come at her. I want to know who the kick-ass woman is.

  27. Kayleigh says:

The biggest pull for me is the intensity of her expression, hands down. And favourite cover? This one, after appreciating all the little details and comparing it to my ex-favourite, Aftermath.

  28. I love the intensity in her expression, and she looks pissed off about something! SJ is looking hard on this cover! I am so excited about this book!

My favorite cover, though, remains the Grimspace cover. Still love it!

  29. J Bennett says:

Amazing…and thank you for signing my kindle today at RT convention. And yes I do trust you!!

  30. Raelene says:

Reminds me of the Angelina Jolie character Tomb Raider, I like it.

  31. Raelene says:

OK I went on Amazon and pre-ordered it, very intrigued

  32. Sandy says:

The cover for ENDGAME is gorgeous and so utterly perfect! ENDGAME definetely has my favorite cover although GRIMSPACE comes right after :)

  35. Julie D. says:

I have to say that with this cover, the starkness is what got me, and then the little punches of color, then add in her expression and all I can say is FIERCE.As for fav. covers, its a toss up between Grimspace and Killbox. Between those two and this one? Hard decision.

  36. I don’t want to enter the contest, because I already have the series, and I’d rather someone else get a chance to win the series who hasn’t had the privilege of reading it.

    HOWEVER:

I adore this cover so much. Very sad this is the last one, but oh, I’m so excited to read it!

As to which is my favorite, Aftermath was at the top of the list, until this one came out. Now it’s a toss-up between the two. :)

  37. Michelle B. says:

I’ve only read the first book in the Jax series (and adored it! I really need to get to the other ones), but I have to say that this is definitely the best one. I’d said Grimspace is very close, but as everyone else has mentioned, there’s so much intensity and grit to this one that’s just awesome.

  38. Leland Eaves says:

Love it. As someone pointed out above looks like a huge weapon of some sort. I think I like this one best. Very gritty.

  39. Sara M says:

All six covers are gorgeous. I think my favorite is Killbox because of the color choices, but I really love how well all of them go together.

  40. EmmaD says:

I really like this one but Grimspace is my favourite. Partially because I have it but also because it captures the mystery of a new series perfectly. The shadow over Jax just appeals to me. The cover was one of the things that really made me want to have Grimspace.
(not sure if this is open international but hope so :) )

  41. This saddens me. I love this series and I don’t want it to end!

I love LOVE the cover. I love seeing all the stages that Jax has gone through and the covers show that wonderful. Have we ever seen what March looks like?

  42. Heather Mitchell says:

I love this last cover. Awesome steampunkesque. Favorite would be all of them

  43. Spaz says:

Love the cover. Love her fierceness. Love that the background is so washed/muted. The colors force Jax as the focus of the art, as it should be.

  44. lorrie says:

    The cover looks amazing!

  45. Nida N. says:

Love the cover!!!!! Can’t wait to get my hands on it.

  46. Alisha S. says:

Not going to lie….I teared up just a bit seeing this cover. It’s freaking gorgeous (Hats off to Scott Fischer, a thousand times).

And then there’s the fact that…y’know. It’s the last Sirantha cover we’re gonna get. Bittersweet, for sure.

  47. Wow! It’s gorgeous!
I think I like this cover best of all.

  48. Carrie says:

I have truly enjoyed the Jax series and the world is fascinating! I think that all of the covers have been great, and shown her evolution as a character. I don’t know that I can pick a favorite!

  49. erinf1 says:

Ahhhhh… I *luv* it. I agree with you. It’s my fav definitely. I love, love, love, love this seris and while it’s bittersweet that it’s ending, I like that you’ve always moved Jax toward an ending. Whether that ending will be happy or bittersweet is still in the air, and I’m eagerly anticipating this book!!!!! I’ve recommend your series to any one who’s ever asked me what to read and I would take this series with me to a desert island/end of the world/etc etc.

Thank you so much for all the hard work and dedication you put into this series. While I’m sad it’s ending, I’m happy that you’ve been able to go into different directions as an author. Can’t wait to see how you’ll blow my socks off next :)

  50. Patrice says:

Ahh it is bittersweet to hear the series is ending. I have loved all of them! Your world is so engrossing, well developed and intricate and I enjoyed the progression of Jax’s character and personality. It is one of the few series whose characters and situations have made me both laugh and cry. So I’m happy and sad that Endgame is, well the end game. :)

I agree this cover is awesome! But just because I tend to go against the main stream, I think I like the cover of Double Blind best. But regardless I do believe I will be ordering a full set as I don’t think I have each one. (some in ebook, some from library)

Congratulations Ann! Thank you for hours of entertainment! And I will certainly be watching for any story set in this amazing world! :)

  51. Jessica says:

Definitely Bittersweet to hear that the series is ending! I have loved all the characters from the beginning, and I’m sure I’ll love them through the end. Picking a favorite cover art it hard! Maybe I’m weird but I thought each piece of art suited each book perfectly and was great cause we got to see Jax look a little different on each cover just as we got to see her personality change throughout the series. I think Doubleblind is one of my favorite covers, but I think thats changing. The cover of Endgame looks AWESOME and has taken the spot of Jax Series favorite book cover. :D At least for me.

  52. Maria says:

Already pre-ordered on Amazon.com and waiting! All the posts above me say it well- each book’s cover was well suited and unique; an ever-evolving pictorial story in itself of Jax. The cover art for ‘Endgame’ is phenomenal and I will be extremely sad to see the series end.
