Basically, it’s been a while since I did a book squee post. I used to do this more often, so this is overdue. But here are some titles that I adored in past months. Since the love of books should be shared, I’m now inviting you to share some books you’ve enjoyed recently.
Song of Blood & Stone by L. Penelope
This is amazing fantasy with a fantastic heroine, wonderful worldbuilding, beautiful writing, a sexy hero. Basically, you should be reading this series. I’m currently reading book two.
The Fit Trilogy by Rebekah Weatherspoon
This is a trilogy of novellas, so they’re sexy, hot, and quick reads. I devoured all three in a single evening. This is great to take into the bath with you.
This is book two in a series, so to love this book as much as I did, you’ll need to read The Girl in the Well first. If you like nuanced. atmospheric horror with Japanese influences, you will eat these up like candy.
Gorgeous fantasy. The mythology is amazing and the writing even better. Cindy is so talented, and I adored her other books as well. You can’t go wrong reading anything by her, actually.
The Brightest Day (an anthology) by Kianna Alexander, Alyssa Cole, Lena Hart & Piper Huguley
I loved these novellas, and the best part is that you can easily read one in a night. They’re beautifully researched and written. I found this anthology through a Twitter rec, and I’m delighted I 1-clicked.
The Weight of Destiny by Nyrae Dawn
A heartwrenching romance. It deals with serious issues in a sensitive way. As always, Nyrae writes incedible characters and her world leaps off the page. You should grab your copy right away.
A Gentleman in the Street by Alisha Rai
So hot! If you’re tired of male alpha billionaires, meet Akira. She is the heroine you always wanted, the one you’ve been waiting for. If you’re looking for a steamy romance, search no farther.
Readers, let’s chat in comments. What have you read and loved lately? I’ll be awarding copies of these books to random commenters periodically. Let the book love begin!
The Rogue Not Taken. Sarah MacLean does amazing work and I never fail to laugh and cry when I read her books.
The one I read and loved most recently was The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness. He is turning out to be one of my favorite authors lately.
I just finished Carry On by Rainbow Rowell and Winter by Marissa Meyer, both really solid books. But the one that’s stuck with me the most (and has become incorporated into my jargon) recently is “Finding Audrey” by Sophie Kinsella. Listened to it as an audiobook, and a great tale of a teenage girl with severe anxiety, reflected a lot about my own teenage years post-diagnosis, with all the fun, silly, and ridiculous that came with it.
The Girl From Above series by Pippa DaCosta because oh my gosh I’m such a sucker for anti-heroes. And she can write them SO WELL. Plus, space ships! 🙂
Sweet Pepper Hero by J.J. Cook and Killing Trail by Margaret Mizushima are two books I’ve read recently and enjoyed. They are both mysteries.
haven’t read much lately, so nothing to recommend
A Gentleman in the Street by Alisha Rai has been on my Want to Read list for a while now. I need to get jumping on this one! I’ve been re-reading all the Nalini Singh Archangel books lately and loving them all over again
Whee! I hope you guys check back on this.
