More wild thing than man…
Zeke Noble has escaped from a secret facility; he has no idea why he was abducted, but the experiments were cruel, soul-killing, and they changed him forever. Now free, his natural affinity with animals has evolved into a dark and dangerous instinct, a curse that costs him too much of his humanity. But he has to rebuild his life, or his tormentors win. To that end, he goes looking for work and finds so much more.
Born to be wild…
Veterinarian Geneva Harper finds herself reluctantly drawn to the lean, mysterious young man to whom the wild is second nature, but she has troubles of her own. She’s the black sheep in an old moneyed Southern family, and she never had any interest in learning the family business, or being the good debutante daughter.
Though Zeke’s wanted Neva for as long as he can remember, their attraction can never go anywhere. They both know that for different reasons. But when a killer starts leaving behind a trail of victims, Zeke’s need to protect her is as fierce as his desire to claim her as his mate. And love may be the only thing that can save them both…
There’s the cover and the blurb. Here’s what RT had to say:
4.5 stars. “… a gripping suspense tale wrapped in a red-hot love story… Gray is just getting better and better with this series.”

Just when I think I have got the plot figured out in my mind – BAM – you keep me guessing. 🙂
The mystery. So many unanswered questions. And of course the heat! Foster’s book was on FIYA!
The Heat series has that perfect blend of everything I love in a book. Fast paced storytelling, romance, suspense. LOVE!
I love the suspense. When you think you have it figured up, POW! the story takes a different term. It’s a different kind of paranormal; it stands out from the normal werewovles and vamp books that are out there.
Also I love the shirtless men on the cover of each book.
I love the flow of the books and the ongoing plot line. The heroines are kick a**. But what I love most of all is the intense and passionate heroes!
What I LUV about this series, is the smexiness mixed in with the romance and suspense. I wasn’t not a bit suspense reader until I started reading this series. It’s awesome. 🙂
Please don’t enter me into the contest, I just wanted to let you know I just finished Skin Heat and it was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best one yet! Can’t wait for Skin Dive!
Oh wow, best one yet? Yay! I’m so glad you liked it. *happy dance*
You see that, readers? Leslee thinks you need an early copy of this book.
I love that this series is unique. I also love the fact that your Hero’s walk a fine line between good/bad (reminds me of Ann Stuart’s Hero’s) I love the creepiness factor in your plots, by creepiness I mean the edge of your seat suspense. Most of all I just love your voice and I look forward to reading each installment.
I have not read this series but it sounds WONDERFUL. Definately going to try to find some of the rest of the series.
I love this series like a chocoholic binging at a Thornton’s shop 😀 –
But I love the ongoing suspense/plotline with the hints of the paranormal. Hot sexy romance with well drawn out characters and Batpunisherman. *Sigh* I love Foster – Hope we get another glimpse of him in the future! 😀
The Heat series rides the edge of suspense, intrigue, mystery and romance. In the hands of a less skilled author, it could easily fall off the edge into the unbelievably ridiculous or over the top category. However Ava Gray creates such unique characters and a imaginative world that I’m enthralled to the very last page.
The sexual energy is insanely delicious!
I will say this about Zeke:
He’s probably the most feral Alpha of all the Skin heroes so far.
The suspense and intrigue! Certainly keeps you guessing!
Count me in as another who loves the dark side of romance you portray. You’re able to turn characters, who would be villains in another author’s hands, and create a compelling story around them so we’re totally rooting for them. Also, I’m really enjoying the overarching story you’re building 😀
Must admit I haven’t yet read the Skin series. But having read the Corine one’s and started on the Jax ones I’m sure they will be just as brillant. From the comments seem to be a bit steamer which is always good 😉
I like that I can’t figure out where the plot is going ahead of time.
Everything! There’s a great blend of romance, suspense, and some paranormal elements; there’s an exciting story and beautifully drawn characters, and of course, your amazing writing. I find myself re-reading passages because there’s such a pleasure in how you’ve put the words together, and it’s incredible the images you create and the emotions you evoke with mere words.
And yes, the covers are gorgeous!
Unfortunately I haven’t read this series yet so the only things I can say i like are the covers and the cover blurbs.
Here’s the magic question to enter: what do you like best about the Skin series?
I got hooked into the series because of the first book, Skin Game. I thought that it was really original in so many ways! I loved her power (and I’ve never seen it before in the many UF books that I read) and I loved how unconventional both the hero and the heroine were. When I read, it’s like I see a movie in my head and that first book was one heck of an action flick! As for the second book, Skin Tight, I think that you did an excellent job sustaining that unconventional, unique quality. Consequently, I’m really looking forward to the third installment.
I love the Skin series because it’s a refreshingly different take on the paranormal genre. the power that Kyra & Foster have (which remains its own kind of mystery!) is intriguing & I’m anxious to find more out about the poor people who were experimented on. the Dr in the last book scared the ever-living crap out of me. but most of all, I am dying, DYING for Taye & Gillie’s story!
p.s. August is too far away. just sayin’
I love the strength of character the heroines have! And the smokin hot chemistry of both books. And OMG I can’t wait for ZEKE!!
I agree with jaymzangel – it’s a refreshingly different take, not the same old same old. And the shirtless men on the covers don’t hurt either 😛
I haven’t actually read the series yet (what? I’m unemployed and my local library doesn’t have them), but I love the covers and cover blurbs! ^_^
The suspense, the intrigue, the romance. It has them all.
I loved this book bsacuee both h/h were hot. I can’t wait to see what she does with Foster…her excerpt on her site has me starting to fall for him

What do I love about this series??? Well, basically everything. I love the characters (and wow, I have got read this…like there was ever any doubt about that…if Zeke is the most alpha) especially the dark sides they have, the romance, and the mystery. I want one of these so badly…I just love your writing!
What I enjoy most about the Skin series is that you manage to make me fall in love with heroes and heroines that are so different, complicated and dark. Who knew that an assassin could become one of my fav heroes?
I also enjoy the sizzling chemistry between your love couples and that when I read one of the books I empathise with the characters.
What I enjoy the most is that each Skin book is different yes they have all been manipulated in some way, but they didn’t all come out with the same paranormal experience. Keeps us on our toes, we thank you.
I love the dangerous hot guys. No goody too shoes men in this series. Just guys willing to get the job done and the women who can match them and sometimes out do them. Its a nice change from the whole night in shining armor routine
Plus I just never know what to expect. Really a fun series for me.
the suspense and the characters 😉
thanks for the contest.
What I like most about the skin series is the continuity of the series with different plot lines and your very intriguingly different main male and female characters, although am still very much in love with Kyra and Reyes and hope to see more from them as cameos in each book…..

My favorite thing about the Skin series is that so far the characters and the plot lines have all been different. Some series (I shall not name them) have the same type of hero/heroine or the same plot line, for example in every book the woman is kidnapped. While I still enjoy some of those it is really nice reading the Skin series because I don’t know what to expect and even though I know a happy ending is in store for the main characters I really enjoy getting to that point.
Thank you for hosting this contest and I am excited for this novel, I love re-reading the end of Skin Tight. 🙂
I love the hotness factor! and I like the suspense…you keep me guessing =)
I love the characters – it’s great to meet them and to get to know them! can’t wait to read on 🙂
I’m not locking comments, so feel free to keep talking about the SKIN series, but as you can see, I have posted the winners above.
Congratulations to the 4 lucky readers, the rest of us have to wait awhile!
